In one-day seminars, two overseas speakers, Dr Bill Summerskill (executive editor of The Lancet and evidence-based medicine expert) and Mr. Richard Henderson (English editor-in-chief of Elsevier Asia), covered topics such as writing skills, content development, research design, international reporting guidelines, publication/study ethics, and the peer-review process.  Many well-known local clinical experts, who have full experience in publishing for international journals, were invited as chairpersons or panelists to share their experiences.

Integrating theory with practice, this forum focused on two essential areas for successful paper publishing, writing and submission. The Lancet and other Tier 1 Medical Journals were used as discussion objects and skills including topic selection and research design were presented on. Meanwhile, many well-known local clinical experts shared their insights on successful publishing, and interactively discussed this with the delegates. This seminar brought international medical information into China, and brought China to the world.
